I want to remember and honor all of the World War II veterans, and what they fought for, Liberty. This includes my grandfather, BJ DeGrande. He graduated Shawnee Mission North High School in 1944 and joined the US Navy and served on a mine sweeper for two years. Grandpa BJ passed in 2008 at 82 years old and was honored with a 21 gun salute in Paola, KS.

Liberty is defined as: the state of being free within society from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority on one's way of life, behavior, or political views.

America will never forget.
